Acecook Vietnam and Kraft Vina Paper Join Forces to Fulfill Extended Producer Responsibility, Committing to Environmental Protection
To implement the regulations on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for manufacturers and importers, Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Kraft Vina Paper Co., Ltd. recently held a signing ceremony for a partnership to collect and recycle paper packaging in 2024. The event marks a significant step forward in both companies’ commitment to environmental protection.
According to the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection and Decree No. 08/2022/NĐ-CP, which details the implementation of certain articles of the law, as of January 1, 2024, manufacturers and importers of batteries, accumulators, lubricants, tires, and packaging (plastic, paper, etc.) are responsible for recycling their products and packaging after consumer disposal. EPR is a key policy in Vietnam’s efforts to build and develop a circular economy. Implementing this policy is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity for businesses to achieve more sustainable development.
Nearly a year after the policy took effect, most businesses subject to it have selected a suitable method for fulfilling their recycling responsibilities.
