ACECOOK VIETNAM CONTINUES TO PARTNER WITH THE VIETNAM FOOD SAFETY AUTHORITY AND VIETNAM WOMEN’S UNION TO ORGANIZE A SERIES OF FOOD SAFETY AND PROPER NUTRITION SEMINARS

Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the leading instant noodle manufacturer in Vietnam, continues to collaborate with the Food Safety Authority and the Vietnam Women’s Union in eight provinces nationwide to organize a series of specialized seminars titled “Food Safety and Proper Nutrition” for members of the Vietnam Women’s Union across the country.

This seminar series is organized with the aim of enhancing food safety and nutrition knowledge for members of the Vietnam Women’s Union, thereby helping raise community awareness of healthy, scientific, and balanced lifestyles. The seminars will take place in eight provinces and cities (Hanoi, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, and Tra Vinh) from May through the end of June 2024, and are expected to attract over 2,000 women participants.

With the goal of providing practical and useful information, the main content of the seminar series revolves around knowledge of food hygiene and balanced nutrition, directly shared by reputable experts. The content is presented in four sections: first, enhancing knowledge about choosing safe foods, proper food storage, and hygienic food preparation; second, providing information on the nutritional requirements in daily meals; third, sharing nutrition tips through the 4-5-1 nutrition formula; and fourth, addressing common misconceptions about food and nutrition.

At the seminar, an expert from the Food Safety Authority shared insights on the current state of food safety in Vietnam, as well as the role of food safety in health, socio-economic development, and community well-being. In addition, People’s Doctor, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Le Bach Mai – Former Deputy Director of the National Institute of Nutrition – provided and discussed information on proper nutrition for all age groups in daily meals, analyzed common misconceptions related to food and nutrition, such as avoiding carbohydrates or fats, and rejecting certain foods due to unverified rumors. Dr. Le Bach Mai emphasized that there are no bad foods, only poorly composed meals; when eaten improperly, even healthy foods can become unsuitable. Instead of being anxious or fearing certain foods, everyone should equip themselves and their families with a solid foundation of nutrition and food knowledge, and practice a balanced, adequate, and reasonable diet.

Experts shared common misconceptions about food and nutrition during the seminar

The seminar also presented participants with tips for balanced nutritional meals and improving daily health, including the 4-5-1 nutrition formula. Specifically, the simple 4-5-1 formula stresses that a diet should firstly meet four criteria: balance the three major macronutrient groups (carbohydrates, fats, proteins), maintain balance between animal and plant proteins, ensure balance between animal and plant fats, and balance vitamins and minerals. To ensure dietary diversity, the 4-5-1 formula also suggests eight main food groups, from which everyone can flexibly choose five groups for meal variety and menu renewal. Finally, meals or daily nutrition should harmoniously combine these nutrients and food groups as described, and when selecting foods for preparation, attention should be paid to choosing safe ingredients – whether fresh or processed.

A representative from Acecook Vietnam shared: “As a company that values corporate social responsibility, it is very meaningful for us to join forces with the Food Safety Authority and the Women’s Union of eight provinces to organize this seminar series. This is also one of the practical activities demonstrating Acecook Vietnam’s ongoing commitment to raising community nutrition awareness, contributing to the company’s sustainable development objectives, and embodying our core value of Three Happiness – Happy Consumers, Happy Society, Happy Employees.

By the end of 2024, the seminar program has been organized in 22 provinces and cities nationwide and is expected to expand further in the future.
