Acecook Vietnam Honored in the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses of 2023

On December 13, 2023, Acecook Vietnam was honored at the Announcement Ceremony for Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam 2023, an event organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD).

In 2023, from nearly 500 applications (25% of which were from first-time participants), the Program Secretariat selected 146 eligible entries. These were then independently scored by the evaluation council using online software. A rigorous and transparent verification process was also conducted before the Steering Committee selected the top 100 outstanding sustainable businesses to be commended at the announcement ceremony.

Acecook Vietnam is proud to have been named among the Top 100 “Sustainable Businesses 2023” in its first year of participation. This achievement reflects the company’s commitment to its core value of “Cook Happiness,” which is realized through three “Happy” principles: Happy Consumers, Happy Employees, and a Happy Society. This involves a constant effort to bring happiness to customers who use Acecook Vietnam’s products by providing high-quality, safe, and reliable goods. Furthermore, Acecook Vietnam actively contributes to society through numerous charitable and environmental activities aimed at fostering a better Vietnam.

To support the community and society, Acecook Vietnam has implemented many practical activities, such as partnering with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children to improve nutrition for children in highland regions and those facing hardship; raising public awareness about disaster prevention and traffic safety; providing scholarships for underprivileged students who have overcome adversity; and supporting Vietnamese football. Looking ahead, in line with its sustainable development strategy, Acecook Vietnam plans many more environmental initiatives. These include product innovations like switching from plastic to paper cups, using bio-plastic forks, and researching eco-friendly packaging materials. Notably, the company is gradually reducing its reliance on depleting fossil fuels by transitioning to clean, environmentally friendly energy sources like solar power and clean-burning gas. These efforts help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save energy, and contribute to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.

The “Sustainable Business” title is an honor that recognizes pioneering companies that have made significant contributions to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese business community and society as a whole. It is a prestigious title that signifies recognition from the government, ministries, agencies, and the community. This year’s program featured several innovations, including fundamental improvements to the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI)—the tool used to assess the sustainable development level of participating businesses. The evaluation and verification processes were also enhanced to be more scientific, transparent, and rigorous, and representatives from the press were included in the Sustainable Business Evaluation Council.
