“Non-Recyclable Plastic Reduction Day” – First Positive Signals

Following the series of activities in response to the Non-Recyclable Plastic Reduction Day implemented at Acecook Vietnam General Company Office, January 22, 2026, continued to record positive signals – not only in the enthusiastic participation of employees but also clearly demonstrated through specific measurable figures.

Positive Changes

On January 22, Acecook Vietnam statistically measured the amount of plastic waste generated on each working floor, based on the number of staff working a full 8 hours. The results showed that the amount of plastic waste generated decreased by approximately 70% compared to before – a positive signal reflecting a clear shift in employees’ daily habits and environmental awareness.
Notably, the working floor commended this month was also the floor that won an award last month. For the remaining floors, the amount of waste also decreased significantly, by 50-70%. These figures show that small actions such as bringing personal water bottles, limiting single-use plastics, and prioritizing reusable items have gradually become daily habits.

Non-Recyclable Plastic Reduction Day also received much positive feedback from participating employees. Sharing her thoughts on this activity, Ms. Giao, who works in the Planning department, said she highly appreciates the meaning of the program.

“Initially, there were a few minor inconveniences, such as not being able to use plastic lids when buying drinks. But that very thing became a reminder for everyone to form the habit of bringing their personal water bottles,” Ms. Giao shared. According to her, when small changes are repeated daily, living green in the office environment will become more familiar and easier to implement.

Using a personal water bottle is a good habit that significantly contributes to reducing plastic waste.

From another perspective, Ms. Ha Chau – from the General Director’s Office – believes that this activity brings practical value to daily office life. “I find Non-Recyclable Plastic Reduction Day very useful because it helps everyone become more aware of their plastic consumption habits. Just changing a few small choices can make a difference,” Ms. Ha Chau said.

“Non-Recyclable Plastic Reduction Day” – a long journey

The positive signals recorded recently show that non-recyclable plastic reduction at Acecook Vietnam’s office has had encouraging initial steps. However, more than just the results of one day, the important thing lies in how each individual views this as a long journey requiring perseverance and sustained effort.
Changing plastic consumption habits cannot happen overnight. It is a gradual process of adjusting familiar routines: from bringing personal water bottles, limiting the use of single-use plastic items, to the awareness of proper waste sorting and disposal. Each small action, when repeated daily, will gradually become a natural way of life in the workplace.

At Acecook Vietnam, “Non-Recyclable Plastic Reduction Day” is not seen as a temporary campaign but as a starting point to foster a green working culture in the long term. By recognizing and sharing positive changes among departments, this journey will continue to spread gently but sustainably.

In the coming time, the company will continue to encourage employees to maintain the habits they have formed, while gradually improving the working environment to be more environmentally friendly. Because the journey of sustainable development does not begin with grand gestures but is built from the small actions we take every day right where we work.
