After one year of implementation, the program to visit the instant noodle factory at Acecook Vietnam JSC has gained much interest from many universities – colleges – vocational schools, attracting more than 3,000 students registering for the visit and considered as a helpful program for the young generation in approaching the practical knowledge from the operation of the businesses.

The pioneering program in the connection between businesses and schools

From August 2013 until now, the program to visit instant noodle factory of Acecook Vietnam has achieved impressive results: more than 100 groups from 30 schools in HCM City have come to visit, with total number of 3,371 students. Besides, there has been the participation of many groups coming from provinces such as Da Lat, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Can Tho, An Giang… groups consisting of partners and children of the company’s staffs… These figures showed that the program has been of much interest from students of young generation in particular and the community in general, especially this is also the connection between businesses and schools – the relation that really needs effective connection.

According to survey data after the program: 96% of the students felt more assured of the instant noodle products when provided with information and firsthand observation of the manufacturing factory with modern Japanese technology, guaranteed compliant with procedures of food safety and sanitation at Acecook Vietnam. 98% of the students noted that the program has given practical and interesting information on the instant noodle industry, the company’s operation and most particularly the sharing and exchange section of the company representative on practical knowledge and career opportunities. Sharing with us, Ms. Duong Thi Kim Xoa – deputy chief of Business Relations Department of the University of Labor – Society said: “We are very supportive of the factory visit program at Acecook Vietnam, we highly appreciated the organizing work, the welcoming reception and the knowledge that students got. It can be said that this practice program was a very interesting and helpful connection between the schools and the businesses”.

Practical lesson for students from Acecook Vietnam

Back to the original goal of the program, Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh – person in charge of foreign affairs of Acecook Vietnam – said: “Since the first days of planning until preparation works, we have put many efforts and all our hearts with the hope that the students would feel satisfied when the program has contributed to providing more certain practical knowledge through making contacts with the working environment of the company, however we were also very worried since the program was quite new, how much support would the schools give in facilitating the students to visit”. The answer after one year of implementing the program was that, we saw a very big demand for visit from the students with so many groups registering currently, Acecook has had to arrange the visit schedule, increasing the organizing frequency from 6 to 8 groups/week.

Not only engaging the subject of university students, but Acecook Vietnam has also expanded to the younger subject of high school students, with the hope to facilitate the students to have the chance to find out about the career before deciding the university and major for their future.

It can be seen that, in such difficult time as of now, not many companies are like Acecook, who besides production and business activities, can also create programs that gain much interest from the community. We think that this is a model that needs to be replicated among all other companies as a way to show responsibility to the society at the present and in the future./.
