With the hope to share with the people of Kumamoto to overcome the losses in physical and spiritual lives during the 2 recent earthquakes at Kumamoto prefecture, Kyushu Island, Southwest Japan, Acecook Vietnam donated 500 million VND to the government of Japan via Vietnam Red Cross Society.
According to posted news, on April 16th morning, one earthquake measuring 7.3 on Richter scale hit Kumamoto prefecture and this has been the 2nd consecutive earthquake following the 6.5 Richter earthquake earlier on April 14th. After two big earthquakes and more than 700 aftershocks of different scales, there were at least 49 dead, 3,000 injured and many series of houses, buildings and traffic systems destroyed surrounding the earthquake area. Approximately 100,000 people of Kumamoto prefecture and 1,000 people of Oita prefecture needed to evacuate to shelter centers, hotels, and public transport.

The said amount of raised money was forwarded to Vietnam Red Cross Society on June 7th, and would quickly be sent to Japan Red Cross Society to support the victims in the areas affected by the recent earthquakes as soon as possible.
