The start of the connection between schools and businesses
The universities – colleges have tried to organize the practice and apprentice programs for students to gain more practical knowledge. However, many schools think that the contacting and cooperating with businesses are not gain much advantage currently; not every business or company is willing to cooperate or organize programs for the students. During recruitment, many companies and businesses require practical experience and job skills from candidates. This can be considered a difficult task for the fresh university graduates and also the anxiety and concern from the schools as training institutions.

Not to mention that it is also the responsibility of the businesses to the society. At Acecook Vietnam JSC, this has been shown very clearly and has become specific action: the program to visit instant noodle factory of Acecook Vietnam has been of much interest and warm response from students and schools.
Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh, person in charge of foreign affairs of Acecook Vietnam, said: “The opening of our factory to welcome students to visit and exchange is hoped to be one of the first “shots” so that other businesses will respond together to open and create the opportunity for the students to have more and more practical lessons during their time at the schools”.
Practical knowledge for the students
| After nearly one year of implementation, the factory visit program organized by Acecook Vietnam JSC has welcomed more than 2,500 students coming for visit, mainly the students from universities – colleges – vocational schools in HCM City and surrounding provinces. In order to meet the increasing demand for visit of students and the schools, Acecook Vietnam is preparing to implement the program at Hung Yen factory – welcoming the students from universities – colleges in the North from July 2014. With the hope to provide students with practical knowledge and look, the program to visit instant noodle factory of Acecook Vietnam was developed with reasonable and practical contents from introducing of the food market, the instant noodle industry, company information, to field trip at the factory with production lines following Japanese technology, completely closed and ensuring absolute food safety and sanitation. The next part was the product tasting at the company and instructions on proper product processing method, attracting much attention from the students.
The most interactive agenda between Acecook Vietnam and the students was the exchange and sharing of information about the company revolving business model, career opportunities, experience and working skills of the managers and experts working at Acecook Vietnam. This was very useful and interesting information, as commented by Dao Dang Quoc Viet – student from HCM City University of Industry: “After the visit, we have witnessed firsthand a modern production procedure of high scale, helping me to compare with the theories in the books. We have been explained by the company management for questions regarding instant noodles, the company, our major and the necessary working skills. This has helped me to learn the knowledge to be added for my future career. It was a short trip but very useful and fun thanks to the welcoming reception of the staffs at Acecook Vietnam”.
Accordingly, more than 95% of the visiting students highly appreciated the program in terms of professionalism and thoughtfulness in facilitating the students to visit, from the pick-up support at the school to the organizing work and explanation of the questions.
The connection between Acecook Vietnam and the schools via the factory visit program has brought good results, creating a new direction in the relations between businesses and schools. We hope this combination will be replicated in the time to come.
